Over 100 Days and Nothing’s Changed

  • May

Our fearless “Change” leader has been in Washington over 100 days now, and frankly I cant tell if he is running the country or GW still? Huge federal bail outs, the biggest spending increase ever, and not one foreign policy change yet. I just dont get why anyone thinks because someone is a good orator they make a good leader. On a similar note, as Obama and his cronies seem stuck on getting Bush and his team tried for crimes, check out the below:

Hover Customer Service Phone Number

  • February

Working in the computer/web industry has its fair share of customer service battles. The latest comes from a web registration company called Hover. If you go to their web site, they have absolutely no customer support info other than an email address. About 72 hours later I received a response saying someone would look at. I had a web site I worked on registered through another company which Hover bought. I couldnt get any info on it and the domain expired. How was I to get it renewed and hopefully transferred to a better company? I searched Google over and over and finally found the old company which Hover bought phone number. WHen I dialed it went to Tucows which I guess is the parent company of Hover. They were able to get me a number of which I dialed and spent 30 minutes on hold until someone answered. They did help me out, and needless to say I will be transferring the domain from them. I see stories all over the web about how people are so mad at this Hover for their customer support and lack of publishing a phone number. So I thought since this site is searched by Google and others, why not post it here and hopefully it starts showing up in search engines. So here it is for those who are looking for it!

A Day of the Same

  • January

As the nation seemed to think the second coming of Jesus himself was upon us this past Tuesday, I watched from a hospital bed as I was dealing with horrible chest pain and was forced to watch things like a national TV reporter delcaring, “He just drank some water, now is sitting down to eat lunch”. While no fan of Barak Obama and certainly no fan of the right who is trying to crucify him as this insider muslim who is a “wicked and evil democrat”, I do admire the history he made with the racial barrier he broke. However, as is typical the news media and his beloved followers have made it go too far. Hes not God folks, and He’s not the answer to America’s problems. His first two main acts were to force Bush to bail out more CEOs in the auto industry, signed the first 700 Billion dollar bail out of CEOs on Wall Street, and now wants to throw another 800 Billion at the economy? I see the same I saw in GW there. Spend and print more money without cause.

No one has the guts to stand up to the greed and money hungry lobbyists in this country it appears. Let the auto industry fail and let Toyota and Honda (who now make more cars in the US than Ford or Chevy does) take over.

As far as his speech, as I have always said, he is a great orator, and writes most of his own speeches. It was a solid speech but still fill with rhetoric that wont be lived up to in the end. Was that really Aretha Franklin? Wow she was beyond horrid. I see Rick Warren took time off from their latest sermon in a can series and and let the opening prayer, which was solid. But man something about that guy just makes me think Joel Osteen. And the closing prayer guy, was he a rapper or a minister?

I think the Christian nation for bashing Obama is wrong, but I also think those that idolize the guy are just as wrong. The fact is his policies wreak of all that the constitution is not. I see more federal hand outs and less true cuts in things like the 45% tax I just saw out of my bonus this year.

Overall Im glad its over, and honestly hope for failure not because he is black, white, republican, democrat, christian, muslim. But because this country will never move forward without moving back to what the founding fathers set up. Limited govt, limited taxes, and less federal intervention. No war or empire building and bring not just Iraq troops home, but all bases should be shuttered and brought home.

I think the true hero of the week, Dr Martin Luther King, Jr, was the one who was overlooked the most. People acted like Obama was more important than him. I just dont get it. We shall see what the next year brings, but I have a feeling it wont be pretty.

Socialism or War?

Well the long (and I do mean overly long, I think this has been going on since GW won the last election) wait is over tomorrow night. We find out who leads us next. A socialist or man who wants to declare war on about 5 more countries. Spread the wealth or spend it all overseas? I am hoping their is a web site that will track the winner’s campaign promises and in 4 years list where they have failed or met their promises.

Me, I will be voting for Bob Barr, and voting out every incumbent as I have in elections past. Since my vote in IL doesnt count if I dont vote for Obama, might as well be in the other column. I dont like Mccain much at all, and definitely dont like Obama. But come tomorrow Obama will have won in a landslide (my prediction) and the democrats can sink us into further turmoil, just as their republican predecessors have done as well. I will continue to fight for the constitution for those who will listen, and hope the party that once stood for low taxes, small gov’t and no foreign intervention will come back to life. Not sure if this will happen in time for us to become a socialist country, but hope it does.

Two scariest things for me to watch when Obama takes office. 1. Watch all the crooked politicians from IL he takes with him to form his staff and cabinet. (I hear Rahm Emmanuel is already being tabbed Chief of Staff - it really doesnt get much more sleezy than this guy) 2. Watch how many bills get passed in his first year of office when he has full support of both house and senate.

Hollywood can cheer, and the right will of course scream some rhetoric about him wanting to destroy the US because he is a Muslim or terrorist or some other BS, but ultimately what scares me the most is the fact most of his issues are socialist at their cores. But again, would I rather see him or a guy who wants to throw more trillions into other countries at the price of “freedom”? Not sure there. I say the repubs regroup and get back to the basics as mentioned above. We shall see, we shall see.

Lesideng Review

A couple of weeks ago, our house church, The Fringe Network, were honored to be visited by our South African sister village workers in Terry and Hamish Rodgers, along with resident/native Simon. Terry and Hamish come yearly to visit the states and talk with their supporters about the year’s activities that have happened in their village they support. This time Simon got his first glance at America, which I am sure is still spinning in his head today.

The Lesideng Soup Kitchen, which is the NPO that backs this unrecognized village of about 100,000 people in South Africa, is going into it’s 4th year of inception. Started with the help of two Abbott Labs executives, much has been accomplished in this village, which had basically an entire generation wiped out by AIDS, and has been deceived by much of the voodoo and witch doctor religions. Our group got involved a couple years back with two of our members sitting on the board now. Last February, 12 people went to visit and see first hand the works that go on daily there. What started as soup kitchen to feed children, has grow into a full time support agency for the entire town. Schooling, medical, food supplies, micro financing, building home program, and more.

All along the goal has been how to make the village a self sustaining village. In hopes it sheds like to the thousands of villages in Africa who are dealing with the same types of issues. Great progress is being made towards this, and its a true honor to share in this journey with a village clear across the globe. Next summer The Fringe will be sending out a couple from our group to work hand in hand with Terry and Hamish and the village there for at minimum 18 months. This is severely needed to deal with the great amount of help coming from the states now.

One of the weeks events on their trip over was a yearly fundraiser the board throws to gain attention, awareness, and support to the village and what specifically LSK is doing there. This year we had a suit and tie dinner fund raiser that brought in mostly top executives and people who clearly have wealth in the states. Our group was donated a table by the board for our continued support of the NPO, so this was an exciting event to be a part of. Live auctions, silent auctions, and lots of time to share stories with others. In all the night netted over $42k in funds to LSK! An amazing testament to the work Terry and Hamish are doing there. Out of that many many kids were sponsored to be able to go to school. Houses were built for families who currently are homeless, or are living in sub par homes. Entire families were sponsored to take care of their basic needs. It all was very awesome to see first hand and am so honored to be a part of.

I know there are many many worth while charities out there, but if you have never been personally a part of a life story like this, I ask you to consider taking a look. More info can be found at www.lesideng.com

Peace.

…I know people are fretting over a 777 loss on Wall Street, but better to have some pain fast and get it over with, then live with decades of depression. Another great video here…
